Terms of Service

Last Updated: June 2026

Please read these Terms carefully. They include important information about your rights, the limits of the Service, and the fact that Ordealing is a self-help tool and not a provider of legal advice.

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Ordealing ("Ordealing," "we," "our," or "us") and govern your access to and use of our dispute-resolution platform at ordealing.com, including any related applications, email addresses, and features (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, unlocking a dispute, forwarding email to the Service, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is available at ordealing.com/privacy-policy and is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What Ordealing Is — and What It Is Not

Ordealing is a self-service software tool that helps individuals organise and respond to their own everyday disputes — for example, recovering a rental deposit, resolving a problem with a landlord, obtaining a refund, or relying on a legal warranty. The Service uses automated and artificial-intelligence features to summarise correspondence, suggest useful evidence, and help you draft messages.

Ordealing is not a law firm, is not a substitute for a lawyer, and does not provide legal advice or representation. Using the Service does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, or similar professional relationship between you and Ordealing.

All AI-generated and automated output — including assessments, summaries, suggested evidence, drafts, and other suggestions — is provided for general informational purposes only. It may be incomplete, inaccurate, out of date, or unsuitable for your specific situation. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and deciding whether to rely on or send any content, and for any communication you send or action you take. For advice about your legal rights, obligations, or deadlines, consult a qualified lawyer licensed in your jurisdiction.

Ordealing does not guarantee any particular outcome in your dispute and is not responsible for the decisions or conduct of any other party.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and complete. The Service is intended for individuals handling their own disputes, not for use on behalf of others without proper authority.

4. Your Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

  • You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it up to date.

  • Notify us promptly at security@ordealing.com if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

  • Each dispute and its data are scoped to your account. You must not attempt to access another user's account or dispute data.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, defamatory, or abusive purpose, or to infringe the rights of others.

  • Upload or forward content that you do not have the right to share, or that contains malware or other harmful code.

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' data, or our systems, or to probe, scan, or test their security.

  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, or circumvent usage, rate, or token limits.

  • Copy, scrape, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its output except as expressly permitted by these Terms.

  • Use the Service to provide legal services to third parties or to represent yourself as authorised to give legal advice.

6. Your Content and Licences

"Your Content" means the dispute details, messages, documents, attachments, and email correspondence you submit to or forward to the Service. As between you and Ordealing, you retain all ownership of Your Content.

You grant Ordealing a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, transmit, analyse, and display Your Content solely for the purposes of operating, securing, and improving the Service and providing its features to you (including AI-assisted summaries, evidence suggestions, and drafts). This licence ends when Your Content is deleted, except for residual copies retained as described in our Privacy Policy or as required by law.

You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to submit Your Content and to grant this licence, and that doing so does not violate any law or the rights of any third party.

7. Forwarding Email to Ordealing

The Service may provide dispute-specific email addresses so that you can forward relevant correspondence into a dispute. You are responsible for the content you forward and for ensuring that you have the right to share any third-party communications. Email and attachments you forward are processed to provide the Service, including parsing, summarisation, and search, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Payments, Unlocking Disputes, and Refunds

How pricing works

  • Ordealing uses a pay-per-dispute model. You may receive a limited free assessment of a dispute before paying. To unlock the full set of AI features for a given dispute, you pay a one-time unlock fee for that dispute. There is no recurring subscription.

  • Prices are shown to you before you pay and may be presented in different currencies depending on your region (for example, US dollars or euros). The applicable price and currency are those displayed at checkout.

  • Payments are handled by our third-party payment processor. By paying, you also agree to that processor's terms. We do not store full payment card details.

  • Usage allowances (such as token limits) exist to prevent abuse and to keep costs sustainable; unlocking a dispute grants a generous allowance intended to cover normal use of that dispute.

Refunds

An unlock immediately gives you access to digital AI features for a dispute. Except where a refund is required by applicable consumer law, unlock fees are generally non-refundable once the AI features for that dispute have been used. If you experience a problem with a purchase, contact us at support@ordealing.com and we will review your request in good faith. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable refund or cancellation rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.

9. AI Features and Their Limitations

The Service relies on automated systems and third-party AI model providers to generate output. These systems can produce results that are inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or otherwise unsuitable, and they do not understand the full context of your dispute.

  • Always review AI output before relying on it or sending it to anyone.

  • Do not rely on the Service to identify, calculate, or track legal deadlines; verify any dates and limitation periods independently.

  • AI features may change, be temporarily unavailable, or be discontinued.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service depends on third-party providers, such as cloud hosting, payment processing, and AI model providers, and may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third party, and your use of their services may be subject to their own terms.

11. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks (but excluding Your Content), is owned by Ordealing or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own disputes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service except to the extent that this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service or its AI output will be accurate, reliable, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that using the Service will result in any particular dispute outcome. This section does not exclude any warranty or right that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ordealing and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or dispute outcomes, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the extent Ordealing is found liable, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty euros (or its equivalent). Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including any non-waivable rights you have as a consumer.

14. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ordealing from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

15. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required to protect the Service or other users, or if required by law. On termination, the licences you grant and receive under these Terms end, except for provisions that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification). Handling of your data after termination is described in our Privacy Policy.

16. Changes to the Service and These Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice, for example by posting the updated Terms with a new "Last Updated" date or by notifying you through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law and Your Consumer Rights

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the competent courts of the Netherlands have jurisdiction. If you use the Service as a consumer, this choice of law and forum does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you reside, and nothing in these Terms affects your right to rely on those mandatory provisions or to bring or defend proceedings in the courts of your country of residence where the law gives you that right.

18. General

  • Entire agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Ordealing regarding the Service.

  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.

  • No waiver: Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.

  • Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
